    Primary Responsibilities

    The System Maintenance Mechanic in our high-volume distribution center is accountable for the performance of timely and cost-effective maintenance of machinery and service/repair of conveyor equipment. The ideal candidate has experience in conveyor operation and electronic components that are in direct relation to the equipment.


    Essential Functions

    • Maintenance of machinery and conveyor equipment in a timely and cost-effective manner
    • Repairs and maintains machinery and conveyor equipment within the facility as required with minimal supervision and ensures minimal downtime of conveyor system
    • Maintains company assets in a quality fashion through understanding of mechanical, electrical, and operational controls associated with the conveyor system
    • Disassembles machinery and repairs broken part using both hand tools and power equipment
    • Provides advice and guidance to other maintenance mechanics and respects the work of others
    • Performs other maintenance repairs and duties in the facility that may not be conveyor related as assigned by management

    Minimum Requirements, Qualifications, Additional Skills, Aptitude

    • Minimum of three (3+) years conveyor maintenance and repair experience
    • Minimum of three (3+) electrical controls experience
    • Ability to read blueprint and schematic diagrams
    • Experience operating material handling and lift equipment
    • Ability to work with outside contractors
    • Must be able to work in a fast paced, quick environment
    • Must be comfortable working with a computer

    Qualifications / Additional Skills / Aptitude:

    • Electrical Journeyman License a plus
    • Welding and fabrication skills a plus
    • Highly motivated self-starter, able to work independently, and be a team player
    • Detail oriented
    • Positive attitude and energetic
    • Ability to work flexible hours and/or shifts which can include overtime and weekends
    • Ability to work at heights and in unusual positions
    • Ability and willingness to communicate effectively in English, both written and orally
    • Ability to travel to outside schooling if required

    Physical Requirements:

The associate is required to sit. The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, and climb. While performing the duties of this position, the associate is subject to a warehouse environment where temperatures can vary from very cool to very warm. The associate is also exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise levels in the work environment are typically low to high.
