Position Overview: As a System Architect within our federal government client's team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and overseeing the implementation of complex IT systems to meet the unique needs of the agency. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring that our systems are robust, scalable, secure, and compliant with federal regulations and standards. You will collaborate closely with stakeholders, including government officials, technical teams, and external contractors, to translate business requirements into effective system architectures. Key Responsibilities:
- System Architecture Design: Develop comprehensive system architecture designs that align with the agency's mission, goals, and technical requirements. This includes defining system components, interfaces, and integration points.
- Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary teams throughout the system development lifecycle. Serve as a subject matter expert on system architecture principles, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Requirements Analysis: Work closely with stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, identify technical challenges, and propose innovative solutions. Ensure that system architectures address both current needs and future scalability requirements.
- Risk Management: Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities within system architectures and develop mitigation strategies to address them. Conduct security assessments and ensure compliance with federal cybersecurity standards and regulations.
- Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to foster a culture of teamwork and transparency. Communicate complex technical concepts in a clear and understandable manner to non-technical audiences.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes relevant to system architecture and IT infrastructure. Continuously evaluate and enhance existing systems to optimize performance, reliability, and efficiency. Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience working as a System Architect, Enterprise Architect, or similar role, preferably within the federal government or a regulated industry.
- In-depth knowledge of system architecture principles, methodologies, and tools, such as TOGAF, Zachman Framework, and UML.
- Strong understanding of federal regulations and standards governing IT systems, including FISMA, NIST SP 800 series, and FedRAMP.
- Proficiency in cloud computing technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization platforms (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to balance technical requirements with business objectives.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, TOGAF, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are desirable but not required.
