OVERVIEW

Bridge Boston Charter School is a tuition-free, K1-8 public school serving 335 students in Roxbury, Massachusetts, and the surrounding community- many of whom have experienced social, emotional, and developmental barriers to learning. Bridge Boston's robust social-emotional program is designed with an eye to supporting students who have experienced trauma in their homes and communities.

THE POSITION

Reporting to the Senior Director of Academic Support, this specific position serves to enhance the teaching, learning, and assessing of math in order to improve student achievement.

A Bridge Boston Charter School Math Interventionist can expect to:
  • Provide targeted, data-driven math instruction to Tier 2 and Tier 3 students in grades K2-8
  • Collaborate with the Senior Director of Academic Support, the ILT, and K2-8 lead teachers to identify students in need of targeted math interventions
  • Deliver math interventions using research based strategies and materials
  • Regularly progress monitor and assess math growth among the targeted students, adjusting course as necessary
  • Collect, share and analyze data in collaboration with relevant stakeholders for each student who is targeted for math intervention
  • Attend and participate in required SBLC meetings for students who are identified for and receiving math interventions
  • Collaborate with the ILT on school-wide professional development initiatives that foster strong math development
  • Deliver PD, as needed, to teachers on small group math instruction and assessments
  • Perform other duties as assigned to assist with overall school culture and operations
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BA required, MA preferred
  • 3+ years of teaching and/or interventionist experience in a similar setting preferred
  • Relevant Massachusetts Provisional, Initial, or Professional teaching certification
  • Sheltered English Immersion endorsement
  • Demonstrated cultural competence and sensitivity; belief in the value of diversity
  • Clear willingness to make and learn from mistakes
