Job Details

Responsibilities:

• Stay abreast of current market trends and insights in the sushi category, leveraging data to inform strategic decisions.
• Develop short- and long-term plans for category development, ensuring a forward-looking and innovative approach.
• Provide expert guidance to sushi operations, collaborating with regional and operations managers to set and achieve goals.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to enhance product offerings and ensure category excellence.
• Travel to various locations, working alongside sushi managers to provide coaching on best practices and maintaining compliance with HACCP and operational documentation.
• Embrace international opportunities with up to 6 to 8 weeks of annual travel, representing a significant percentage of the role, to collaborate with global teams and enhance the overall success of our sushi category initiatives.

What You Need for This Position:

• Prior experience in successfully managing sushi categories or sushi operations is highly preferred.
• Essential ability to analyze data, draw meaningful conclusions, and make strategic category decisions. Strong numerical skills and an intuitive understanding of the sushi category are crucial.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills to quickly build rapport with individuals from diverse backgrounds, fostering effective communication and collaboration.
• Preferred background with previous experience and knowledge of a retail environment, providing a nuanced understanding of industry dynamics.
• Essential strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring meticulous execution in the fast-paced and dynamic realm of sushi category management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, vital for conveying ideas, strategies, and collaborating with teams globally. Willingness to accommodate irregular hours for effective communication with staff in Asia.
