Job Description
Position Description: Surgical Technologist Lead
  • Acts as the shift lead to staff and assists management with daily operations of the department.
  • The Surgical Technologist is a member of the health care team who performs technical support in the perioperative period under the direction and supervision of a RN according to accepted clinical standards of care.
  • Prepares equipment, instruments, supplies, operating room, and patients to ensure sterile field.
  • Coordinates preparation or disposal of specimens, etc.
  • Assists with inventory of sterile supplies.
  • May assist in patient transport.
    Requirements:
    • Completion of an Accredited Surgical Technology Program or LPN Technical Diploma and 2 years surgical technician experience OR completion of a military or hospital based training program with 5 years acute care Surgical Tech experience.
    • Surgical Tech Certification from NBSTSA or NCCT
    • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) with the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
    • High School Diploma or Equivalent
    Specific Skills:
    • Knowledge of sterile technique, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field set-up
    • Broad Knowledge of specialty procedures, instrumentation and equipment
    • Interpersonal skills
