Surgical Services/OR Tech

Minimum Experience: 2 years; 1st Timers are accepted

Patient Population: Adolescents to Geriatrics

Certifications Required: BLS

General Skills and Work Setting Requirements: 16- Bed Operating Room with a variety of surgical specialties including General, Urology, Robotics, Colo-Rectal, Endo, Neuro, Gyn, Ortho, Ortho/Spine, Total Joints, Plastics, Vascular and Open Heart. Vascular and Open Heart skills not required as these specialties have their own teams. Case Cart, Scrub, High Level Disinfection and Aseptic technique required; Equipment required DaVinci XI, Stryker Endoscopy, Olympus Urology, Client/Synthes Ortho and Client Biomet Ortho

Ratio / Census: 16 Rooms; Daily Case Volume around 35

Unit Systems: Epic, Pyxis, SBAR

Scrub Color: Scrubs provided by facility

RTO: MAX 7 days

Weekends: Every other weekend

Floating: Possibly within facility, but rare

Call Requirements: Yes; 6 call shifts in a 8 week schedule period

Holidays: If one major vacation falls in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work it. If two major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work both of the holidays. If three major holidays fall in his/her assignment period, the traveler is expected to work two of the holidays.

New Year s Eve and Day: Sunday, December 31 & Monday, January 1
Memorial Day: Monday, May 27
Independence Day: Thursday, July 4
Labor Day: Monday, September 2
Thanksgiving/Black Friday: Thursday, November 28 & Friday November 29
Christmas Eve and Day: Sunday, December 24 & Monday, December 25

Compliance: Full compliance required to start on time; if not compliant in time the push back is 2 weeks due to bi-weekly orientation schedule.
