The Surgery Coordinator's job position is:
- Maintains surgical schedule for surgeons
- Communicates with patients about: scheduling, pre-op testing and visits, insurance requirements, surgical consents, facility ownership disclosure, transportation requirements, financial requirements, financial hardship assistance
- Contacts facilities for scheduling
- Arranges for pre-op testing
- Schedules pre-op visits
- Calls for necessary pre-authorizations
- Coordinates paperwork
- Maintains patient confidentiality
- Attends required meetings
.Requirements: The Job requirements for a Surgery Coordinator are:
- High school diploma or GED
- Successful completion of JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant requirements
