Duties Plans use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials on a week-to-week or month-to-month basis. Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments based on general work schedules, methods, and policies set by the supervisor. Coordinates work with supporting or related work functions controlled by other supervisors. Participates with the supervisor in the initial planning of current and future work schedules, budget requests, staffing needs, estimates, and recommendations as to scheduling projected work. Investigates work related problems such as excessive costs or low productivity and determines causes. Implements corrective actions within authority to resolve work problems. Plans and establishes overall leave schedules. Determines training needs of subordinates and arranges for accomplishment. Sets performance standards, and makes formal appraisals of subordinate work performance. Ensures regulations governing safety and housekeeping are observed with appropriate protective clothing and equipment being utilized. Performs non-supervisory functions of the organization supervised. Implements regulatory safety requirements and ensures that subordinates wear appropriate safety equipment and follow pertinent safety precautions. Prepares for and participates in various types of readiness evaluations, inspections, mobilizations, and command support exercises. Performs other duties as assigned. Requirements Conditions of Employment Management has the right to convert this position to permanent status without re-advertising. Indefinite employment can be terminated with a 30 day notice. If selected individual is in a Permanent status (Tenure 1 or 2) with the Missouri Army National Guard, that individual will retain their Permanent status. If selected individual is in an Indefinite status (Tenure 3) with the Missouri Army National Guard, that individual will retain their Indefinite status. Any other individual selected for this position will be placed into an Indefinite appointment. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the Missouri National Guard prior to the effective date of placement. Applicants who are not currently a member of the National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the military grade listed in this announcement. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Failure to complete management prescribed courses for full-time support personnel within the first year of employment or assignment, may be cause for reassignment or termination. Pre-placement or baseline physical are required for newly hired or appointed Wage Grade personnel who may be potentially exposed to health hazards in the work environment. Qualifications MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: Compatible military grade and assignment required prior to the effective date of placement. This is an Excepted Service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state's National Guard. Maximum Military Grade - CW3 (W-3) Minimum Military Grade - SFC(E-7) Warrant Officer - Branch 25, 91, 92 or 94; MOS 882A Enlisted - CMF 12, 13, 14, 19, 25, 88, 91, 92 or 94 Supervisor must verify that selected individual occupies a compatible military position. Title 32 National Guard employees will not be militarily senior to their full-time supervisor or wage leader (grade inversion). GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience or training which demonstrates your ability to organize assignments for subordinates, estimate material and manpower needed for specific jobs; able to explain manuals and work procedures; and to prepare production records, work records and reports. WS-08 SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must possess 36 months of specialized experience that demonstrates your ability to plan and organize work assignments for a repair function; review work requirements and establish priorities to meet deadlines; provide a knowledge of the various lines of work performed by the repair function and associated support organizations; dealt effectively with other people; experience adapting existing equipment and techniques to new situations; experience supervising through subordinate supervisors, or the potential to perform such duties as evidenced by the ability to communicate; experience applying human relations techniques using a knowledge of general supervisory concepts; and a knowledge of shop processes.
