Duties Serves as group leader responsible for administrative supervision of 10-15 professional engineers, and full technical and administrative supervision of 10-15 Information Technology (IT) specialists. Executes technical, administrative and personnel management responsibilities related to the accomplishment of the mission assigned. Promotes sound position management principles and programs. Provides advice and counsel to employees relative to work and administrative matters. Provides advice and guidance for preparation of information system plans, systems design plans, engineering installation plans, test plans, statements of work, performance work statements. Applies broad information technology knowledge and extensive experience with information systems. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Special Sensitive/High Risk, Sensitive Compartmented Information. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident. This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter in accordance with DoD Directive 5500-7-R. This position requires the incumbent to possess, or obtain and maintain, a valid regular or official U.S. Passport. A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed. This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time. Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. Managing systems that include multiple technical areas such as systems engineering, Information Technology (IT) infrastructure, IT networking and Cybersecurity. Providing advice and expertise to Senior officials and leaders in the application of Information Technology to operational problems.
