Support Specialist

General Description: The Radiology Support Specialist is responsible for supporting licensed technologist in their daily job activities. Essential Functions: Receives and records patient information and physician orders. Monitors patient consents. Answers the phone and directs calls. Schedules patient exams. Receives, processes, and escorts patients. Provides patients with directions, materials, and information to prepare for exams. Start IV's Maintains equipment and inventory, and orders supplies. Makes copies, and maintains files. Stocks supplies and cleans work area. Transports patients. Transfers patients to or from bed/wheelchair/stretcher. Education and Training Requirements: Minimum High School Diploma or GED; some college education preferred Knowledge of medical terminology is highly preferred Typing skills preferred Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications preferred Office work experience, including answering phones, scheduling, communicating with the public, typing, and filing Familiarity with Meditech, and PACS is desired Note: Job description available upon request.
