Clarification from the agency Career or Career-Conditional GPO Employees Only Videos Help Duties Inspect shipments of materials, equipment, parts, etc., and the completion of all necessary documentation for the acceptance or rejection of shipment. Review documentation of shipments received or rejected to coordinate inspection and acceptance of shipments by technical personnel. Arrange return of rejected items in a timely manner, or processes claims for damage when applicable. Review records of anticipated shipments to determine those which are overdue and initiates appropriate action to inform procurement personnel and/or the ordering activity of the same. Ensure all retrograde material is received and shipping instructions are forwarded promptly for expeditious handling to the contractor and or vendor. Resolve questions concerning acceptance of shipments and expedites completion and distribution of all pertinent documentation on all files. Selectee must successfully pass all preemployment requirements prior to appointment. Selectee must undergo a background investigation for a Non Sensitive-Low Risk Clearance Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period. TIME-IN-GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. Applicants must have served 1 year at the next lower grade level or equivalent grade level of federal service to qualify Qualifications To qualify for the Supply Technician, PG - 2005 - 6 , you must meet the following requirements: To qualify for the Supply Technician, PG-2005-06, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the PG-05 grade level in the Federal Service that includes: Specialized experience is described as 1) performing general supply, inventory or procurement functions; 2) preparing reports summarizing information and data; and 3) identifying and working to resolve discrepancies and inconsistencies. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement (04/30/2024) to be considered. Education Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used or this grade level. Background Investigation: For a Suitability: To ensure the accomplishment of its mission, the GPO requires every employee to be reliable and trustworthy; this position requires a background investigation for Suitability. To meet those standards, all selected applicants must undergo and successfully complete a background check for Suitability. This review could include fingerprints and credit checks, as well as a full field FBI background investigation and tax and bar checks for attorney applicants. The background investigation covers a period of seven to ten years depending on the nature of the position; this process may take 6 weeks or longer.
