SUMMARY The Supplier Quality Technician ensures that supplied parts meet design specifications to support Patio Door Assembly in the Bayport, MN plant. A focus of this role is to verify that quality standards are effectively being used to detect and address non-conforming product to protect the Andersen Brand. The Supplier Quality Technician will work closely with the Bayport Patio Door Quality Team, Production Associates, and the Supply Chain Team.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Investigate reports of non-conforming components and coordinate containment of materials that do not meet specifications
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers to communicate, disposition and track status of non-conforming materials
- Utilize specifications and measurement equipment to detect and address non-conforming parts/products
- Gather information to initiate Corrective Actions requests for supplied or fabricated parts and assist in 5 Why / 4 Step Problem Solving to address (CAPA, PDCA)
- Work in a fast-paced production environment and prioritize multiple tasks
- Create quality control and Standard work documentation
- Provide coaching, guidance or training to Associates regarding interpretation of specifications and manufacturing practices
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiar with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for data entry, editing of documentation for shop floor, and summarizing data/findings
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Experience with aesthetic specifications and using visual standards
- Strong aptitude in process improvement and problem solving
NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2-5 years Quality or Manufacturing experience
- Intermediate math aptitude
- Experience using measurement equipment
- Ability to summarize data and findings and present out results
- PIT License

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
