Summary You will serve as a SUPERVISORY WORK AND FAMILY SPECIALIST assigned to the FLEET FAMILY SUPPORT CENTER (FFSC)NAVSUBASE KINGSBAY. Duties You will advise customers on work-life services programs (e.g., career, transition, relocation, personal financial management, employment, community life, emergency and crisis assistance, personal and family readiness). You will evaluate program requirements to identify innovative ways of presenting training for Personal and Family Readiness programs. You will conduct training that addresses financial planning for separation, short notice deployments, permanent change of station and transition from the military. You will represent an organization at military and community meetings concerning family or military enrichment programs or services. You will develop reports, information papers, and talking points for Fleet Personal and Family Readiness programs. You will develop initiatives to promote public awareness of Personal and Family Readiness programs. You will supervise subordinate staff of multiple Work and Family Life programs You will assign work to subordinates and plan work to be accomplished. This is a bargaining unit position. Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. Qualifications In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing the following duties: 1) Coordinating all appropriate resources including Department of Veteran's Affairs benefit counseling programs; 2) Administering education services/programs relative to transitioning of military to civilian, relocation and employment; 3) Serving as a non-clinical trainer/educator responsible for the delivery of a wide variety of education services in a group or classroom setting; and 4) Planning work to be accomplished by subordinates. OR Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. OR Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field. The following education may be substituted for specialized experience: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position. OR Successful completion of 3 years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. degree or equivalent doctoral degree. OR A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience must equal one hundred percent.
