Duties As a SUPERVISORY SECURITY SPECIALIST you will be responsible for the following duties: Responsible for directing critical organizational and operational elements and is required to fulfill the duties of Deputy Assistant Directors (DAD), Adjudication and Vetting Services, when the DAD is unavailable. Serves to address the multidisciplinary fields of investigation, adjudication, security, information assurance, force protection, workplace violence, and related subject matter areas as they pertain to personnel security, vetting & screening of foreign nexus, adjudications and Continuous Vetting. Responsible for operation of the personnel security & screening, adjudications and Continuous Vetting. mission in accordance with the Director intent, ensuring the timely flow of information across the organization. Responsible for orchestrating efforts associated with General Council (GC), Enterprise Tools/Architecture, Operations, Program Evaluation, Standards & Guidance and Strategic Outreach. Reviews and interprets vulnerability data and raw information obtained by sources (Continuous Vetting., Incident Reports, Investigation Providers) in the routine conduct of its missions and coordinates distribution of that information to all DOD and Federal stakeholders. Makes recommendations to the Director, as to the proper course of action to mitigate identified vulnerabilities and ensures follow-up actions are taken through final resolution. Qualifying experience may have been acquired in any public or private sector job, but will clearly demonstrate past experience in the application of the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to successfully perform the duties of the position. You must have specialized experience sufficient to demonstrate that you have acquired all the competencies necessary to perform at a level equivalent in difficulty, responsibility, and complexity to the next lower grade GS/GG-14 in the Federal service and are prepared to take on greater responsibility. Generally, this would include one year or more of such specialized experience. Specialized experience for this position includes: supervising personnel of various grades up to, and including, GG-14; fostering collaboration and engagement amongst staff and stakeholders; directing mission requirements across a broad range of activities; planning and scheduling re-organization initiatives; evaluating current and anticipated workloads, determining resource impacts and balancing with stakeholder needs and mission requirements; and analyzing data, preparing presentations, and presenting high level briefings and documents, along with recommending appropriate actions; representing leadership when required. Specifically you will be evaluated on the following competencies: 1. Strategic Thinking - Formulates objectives and priorities, and implements plans consistent with the long-term interests of the organization in a global environment that takes into consideration the environment, resources, capabilities, constraints, and organizational goals and values. Capitalizes on opportunities and manages risks and contingencies, recognizing the implications for the organization and stakeholders. Education Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
