Duties Assist data consumers in maximizing the use of their data through improved data access, data availability and data architecture. Assess and/or develop data sources with the objective that data must be visible, accessible, understandable, linked, trusted, interoperable, and secure (VAULTIS). Identify internal/external best data practices and establishes internal guidelines to facilitate information sharing and data retrieval. Monitor and participate in technical testing to ensure all tests are properly conducted and all technical problems are properly identified and classified in terms of urgency. Coordinate configuration management duties and quality assurance aspects of assigned products. Oversight and manage difficult and complex assignments in Data Management. Provide advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of complex Business Intelligence issues; interpreting policies, standards, and guidelines; conducting analyses of interrelated issues and recommending resolutions. Exercise direct supervision and control over a civilian staff consisting of technical and administrative personnel. Evaluate and discuss data service problems and procedures with management and recommends improvements and ways to provide greater effectiveness. Requirements Conditions of Employment Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation. This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A one year supervisory probation maybe required. The duties of this position meet the criteria for compliance with Federal and Department of the Army Drug Free Workplace Programs. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-12 or above.
