Supervisory Electrical Engineer with Security Clearance

Duties You will assign work assignments and schedules to staff members to ensure work is completed based on priorities and capabilities of the employees. You will maintain the MIDLANT electrical Community of Practice including management of training, hiring and transition planning. You will review electrical system designs to ensure compliance with agency, national, and local building codes, standards, and requirements. You will develop project plans (e.g., engineering design and construction project) to include work requirements, resource needs, execution schedules and acquisition plans. You will monitor large-scale electrical engineering projects for compliance with applicable objectives, standards, and requirements. You will participate in construction contract negotiation to provide electrical engineering technical expertise. You will supervise subordinate supervisors and oversee three teams of engineers. Qualifications This position has a selective placement factor that will be used to screen out ineligible candidates. The selective placement factor is: You must currently be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE). To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
