Role Summary:

This role oversees the execution of learning management at Alaska Airlines. As a people leader, this role leads and establishes priorities for the team to manage all training records, develop curriculum, coordinate/schedule training, implement learning technologies and oversee governance of training initiatives supporting the Maintenance & Engineering department.

Key Duties:
  • Supervises the execution and ongoing maintenance of the Learning Management System, technical training content, and instructional technologies supporting the Maintenance & Engineering Department.
  • Responsible for management of formal and on-the-job training records in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) 121.375, GPM policies and procedures, and departmental guidelines.
  • Executes curriculum support and content development to ensure efficient, effective training solutions and process workflows.
  • Monitors that personnel training records and files are correctly documented and maintained.
  • Coordinates with subject matter experts to ensure content development is influenced by their knowledge.
  • Consults to key stakeholders, recommending improvement of technical training programs and initiatives.
  • Builds, maintains, and manages relationships with internal customers and external networks to gain knowledge of work situations that could inform training, changes in policies, procedures, regulations, or technologies.
  • Analyzes information gathered through daily duties to recommend changes in policies, procedures and regulations within training infrastructure.
  • Influences culture of team through action, presence, and reinforcement of behaviors.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Job-Specific Experience, Education & Skills:

Required

  • 3 years of experience in training, maintenance, engineering, or a similar field.
  • Bachelor's degree or an additional two years of relevant training/experience in lieu of this degree.
  • Experience in Learning Management System administration.
  • Able to gather and compile data, develop analyses, and manage reporting.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and successfully communicate with a diverse workgroup and with other internal departments and teams.
  • Superior interpersonal relationship skills facilitating effective verbal and written communication at all levels in the organization.
  • Excellent analytical, project management and PC skills required.
  • Minimum age of 18.
  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred

  • Previous experience supervising task execution.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, Forms, and Power Automate.
  • Experience with modern course development software and distance learning deployment practices.
  • Experience working with regulatory training records management under FAA, DoD or other similar agencies.
  • Working knowledge of FARs as pertains to maintenance technical training.

Salary Range: $84,600 - $126,800/year Salary Details:

Pay will be based on multiple factors, including and not limited to location, relevant experience/level and skillset while balancing internal equity relative to other Alaska/Horizon employees. Alaska/Horizon is committed to fair, unbiased compensation along with competitive benefits in all locations in which we operate.

Note: We don't typically hire at the top of the range.
