With minimal supervision, directs the activities of work performed by other respiratory therapists, performs and monitors a variety of respiratory care operations, assumes responsibility for problem resolution, and teaches quality control and maintenance. Collaborates with staff at the Pines to provide coordinated care. Responsible for staff education/yearly competencies and improvement initiatives in conjunction with providing direct patient care, instruction, and preparation for continuing care after discharge.
Minimum Education
- Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy. Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum Work Experience
- 5 years of Respiratory Therapist experience
- Supervisory experience preferred.
Required Licenses/Certifications
- Current VT State license.
- RRT Certification
- BLS Certification through American Heart Association.
- ACLS preferred
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Familiarity with respiratory therapy equipment and use of basic office equipment is required.
- Knowledge in the areas of quality improvement, quality control, equipment maintenance and respiratory required.
- Complies with regulatory requirements, OSHA/VOSHA Standard Precautions; practices personal and hospital safety and complies with confidentiality policy.
- Communicates patient information to physicians, office staff, hospital employees, and contracted facility.
- Ability to provide respiratory information to all customers groups.
- Ability to accurately transcribe and verbalize patient data.
Pay Range: $65,000 - $104,000
