Position Summary Orlando Health Dr. P. Phillips Hospital is a 285-bed acute care facility serving southwest Orange County for more than 35 years. The hospital offers advanced technology and expertise in numerous areas of specialty, including diagnostic imaging, cardiovascular and stroke care, comprehensive surgical services, and rehabilitation, with minimally invasive options for many procedures utilizing the DaVinci Robotic Surgical System and Mako SmartRobotics roboticarm-assisted surgery for knee and hip joint replacement. A comprehensive Emergency Department treats both adults and children, including a "fast track" for minor emergencies, and is a designated Primary Stroke Center. The hospital also provides services at the Orlando Health Emergency Room and Medical Pavilion - Responsibilities Licensure/Certification Maintains current professional license as a Registered Respiratory Therapist in the State of Florida. Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate; and as determined by specialty area ACLS, PALS, or NRP is required Three (3) years' experience as a registered respiratory therapist in the acute care setting Responsible for the day to day operations within the clinical setting to ensure delivery of quality service and optimal patient flow. Coordinates staffing needs and reviews coverage on a daily basis to meet patient care requirements. Assists with the clinical evaluation of team members, completes written clinical performance evaluations and conducts timely team member assessments. Participates in the hiring and evaluation of potential team members. Monitors compliance with certifications, licenses and required education for team members. Assists in the coordination and participates in the delivery of patient care ensuring compliance with physician orders and established policies, procedures and standards of practice. Performs direct patient care activities as required to meet operational needs. Interfaces with patients and families to provide instruction, promote participation in patient care and to coordinate respiratory activities. Qualifications Education/Training Graduate from an approved school of Respiratory Care and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC. Candidates can qualify by meeting the specified education requirements and/or the specialized experience requirements below: Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care, Cardiopulmonary Sciences, Business Administration or Health Science Administration; or Associate Degree in Respiratory Care plus any NBRC Specialty Certification (NPS, RPFT, ACCS) or Asthma Educator Certification (AE-C) with documented supervisory and/or management experience Education/Training Graduate from an approved school of Respiratory Care and Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the NBRC.
