APPLY NOW FOR PRIORITY CONSIDERATION San Bernardino Countyis offering an excellent opportunity as a Supervising Correctional Nurse II.Thisposition plans, organizes, and supervises the operations of health services and personnel at a correctional facility and is responsible for negotiations and grievances of contractual issues. In collaboration with the Health Services Manager, assigns, evaluates and coordinates the day-to-day operations of service, provides leadership and direction for health services in accordance with organizational direction, assists to maintain the highest degree of clinical and operational performance in health services; instructs professional healthcare staff of standardized procedures, scope of practice, safety and security parameters as well as health informatics technology. CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Background: Successful candidates must not have been convicted of a felony and must successfully pass an extensive background investigation including a polygraph and live scan. Physical:Requires physical agility and mobility, hand dexterity, good vision and hearing; lifting and carrying of up to ten (10) pounds. Working conditions involve exposure to infectious materials. Travel: Travel throughout the County will be required. Incumbents are required to make a provision for transportation. At the time of hire, a valid California Class C driver license and proof of automobile liability insurance must be produced and maintained for the individual providing the transportation. The incumbent must be flexible to travel between facilities as necessary. Sponsorship:San Bernardino County is not able to consider candidates who will require visa sponsorship at the time of application or in the future. Minimum Requirements License:Must possess and maintain a current license as a Registered Nursewith the State of California andmust possess a current CPR Certification. AND- Experience:One (1) year of experience as a Registered Nurse in a locked correctional facility performing full-scope supervisory duties such as hiring, firing, writing and signing work performance evaluations, and approving time off. Desired Qualifications The ideal candidate is a well-organized, experienced correctional nurse with leadership experience, who remainscurrent with common medical practices withthe ability to analyze data, develop and implementprocesses to improve healthcare services offered to youth. It is highly desired that the incumbent has experience analyzing and negotiated contract policies.
