This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a Supervising Civil Highway Engineer for our Lawrenceville, NJ office. Be involved in projects with our Mid-Atlantic Transportation Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client's objectives and solves their challenges. Your Impact Possess a Professional Engineer's License and be competent in all conventional aspects of technical civil design to support transportation projects. Planning and conducting tasks requiring independent judgment with regard to standard design and engineering techniques and procedures for roadway projects. Work on transportation projects in a team-oriented environment. Be a task leader for specific Civil Engineering aspects of a project's design, including development of roadway, geometry, grading, drainage, access, Right-of-Way, sections, earthwork, quantity calculation, construction cost estimation and utility relocation schemes. Meet with various public or private entities or individuals to discuss issues relating to a variety of engineering/construction challenges and programs. Ensure technical reports and presentations explain research, findings, and recommendations to prevent, control, restore, or address engineering, design, and/or construction issues or opportunities. Assist with developing client contacts, meetings, and other client interaction. Remain current in latest civil engineering techniques and practices. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Who You Are Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering. 10+ years of relevant post education experience in engineering and civil design. NJ Professional Engineer license. Highly proficient with civil engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues. Demonstrated proficiency and experience preparing drawings in Microstation and InRoads. Adept with Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.). Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing intricate ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience. Experience using Scheduling Software. Proficient with applying AASHTO and NJDOT design standards and guidelines. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies. Must be flexible to a variety of schedules to meet business needs and able to prioritize responsibilities and quickly adapt to change in a pressure work environment. Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Engineering. Member of professional practice organizations and outreach activities.
