Category: Student Support Services/Summer School Psychologist Location: Proviso East High School/Proviso West High School Date of Availability: Thursday 6/13/24 through Wednesday, July 31, 2024 plus additional days as outlined by the Summer School Administrator Date Closing: Open Until Filled Job Title: Summer School Psychologist Reports to: Summer School Administrator Location: Proviso East High School/Proviso West High School Compensation: $6,000 program stipend (both sessions) Description: Proviso Township High Schools District 209 is seeking School Psychologists for Summer School 2024. Summer School Psychologists are directly responsible for the psychological assessment of academic, social, emotional, and behavioral domains utilizing problem-solving and standardized evaluations. School Psychologists monitor the completion of case study evaluations and participate in Individual Education Plan (IEP) conferences and problem-solving meetings designing systems, programs and services that maximize students' social, emotional, and educational success. In collaboration with staff, families, students, and communities, School Psychologists promote effective educational environments. Summer School Psychologists may opt for one or both summer sessions and must commit to attend professional development prior to the beginning of the summer session. Additional dates may be outlined by the Summer School Administrator to ensure a smooth summer school program. See Qualifications below. Qualifications: Illinois Educator's Certificate Type 073 Knowledge of diagnostic assessments for students for students with suspected and identified disabilities. Knowledge of RTI strategies and tools for students at - risk in academics of social - emotional development Summer School Dates: Session 1 Monday, June 17, 2024 through Wednesday, July 10, 2024 No school on Wednesday, June 19, 2024; Wednesday, July 3, 2024; and Thursday, July 4, 2024 Session 2 Thursday, July 11, 2024 through Wednesday, July 31, 2024 Schedule: Classes meet Monday through Thursday. No class on Fridays. Session goes from 8:00 am - 1:00 pm Teachers report from 7:45 am - 1:15 pm Summer School Psychologist Responsibilities: Conduct psychological assessments and interpret results for students and participate in IEP conferences, team meetings, and problem - solving meetings. Provide individual, group, and family therapy per IEP requirements. Monitor completion of case study evaluations and participate in IEP conferences and problem-solving meetings. Lead crisis intervention efforts and provide insight into the development of functional assessments and behavior intervention plans. Integrate psychological services into the classroom environment as appropriate. Provide assistance to staff in the design and implementation of appropriate interventions and accommodations for students. Evaluate and/or translate research into practice and understand research design and statistics in sufficient depth to plan and conduct investigations and program evaluations for improvement of services. Contribute to program development that furthers the integration of social, copying, and problem-solving in the classroom. Provide support services to parents/guardians as needed. Coordinate and/or collaborate with a range of individual/agencies to promote and provide comprehensive services to students and families. Provide and/or assist in professional development for staff, parents, and/or community. Participate in professional growth activities on a yearly basis. Proficiently use technology to communicate, compile reports, and collect data. Participate in building or program activities and meetings as appropriate. Professionally Related Competencies: Perform promptly the responsibilities stipulated in Board of Education policies and administrative procedures. Attend each day of the program. Absences, for any reason, will result in a reduced stipend payment. Model and enforce classroom and school rules, policies, and procedures. Be punctual in arrival times to the building and to class. Cooperate with other educational personnel. Report promptly student behavior, attendance, and performance to family or guardians and when necessary, refer students to appropriate school personnel; stay in regular communications with parents.
