2024 Summer Associate - Hunger Action Corps Duties & responsibilities: Minimum-time (320 hours over 10 weeks) AmeriCorps members will work on the front lines to fight hunger during the summer by distributing meals to families and children in need. Members will serve Monday through Friday alongside site coordinators to ensure efficient and meaningful meal delivery. Throughout the term, members must work together on a project of their choosing, and at the end of their AmeriCorps term, they must present their findings to key staff and leadership. Member Duties : Key functions: Support community outreach Assist with partner trainings Support meal distribution throughout Cook County, including driving a sprinter van to meal sites Ensure that meal distributions are tracked and documented Work as part of a cross-functional team that is developing and implementing strategies to strengthen communities and address the root causes of hunger Participate in program evaluation through an ongoing group project Present findings of the group project to key stakeholders at the end of the AmeriCorps term Qualifications: Candidates must be friendly, outgoing, and be able to communicate diplomatically Experience conducting outreach and providing direct services preferred Previous experience with SFSP programs preferred Must be comfortable working with diverse populations in various Cook County communities Valid driver's license required Age 21 or older preferred Bilingual Spanish preferred Program Benefits : Stipend , Training , Education award upon successful completion of service .
