This position is open to anyone wishing to be added to the Snoqualmie Valley School District Substitute Nurse pool for the 2023/24 school year.

Position is open to certificated and classified nurses.
Required: Valid WA State Registered Nurse License OR WA State ESA Certificate with an endorsement as a School Nurse.

To provide comprehensive health and nursing services to assigned schools within the structure of Snoqualmie Valley's Public Schools Health Services Department. Successful applicants will be notified about the hiring process via email as soon as a completed application is submitted and electronic reference checks are returned. Substitute Nurses must complete two days of (paid) training prior to substituting in a building

Note: Substitute Nurses must provide official college transcripts to the Human Resources Department upon hire. These can be provided directly through eScript from your University/College or brought in by you, as long as they are in a sealed envelope and on official transcript paper.

Certificated Substitute Nurse wage: Full day (7.5 hours) is $190 for the day; Half day is $95 for the day.
Classified Substitute Nurse wage: $41.30 per hour (2023/24 PSE Salary Schedule)

Benefit Eligibility:
  • Insurance: Substitutes are not eligible for insurance unless they have worked or are anticipated to work at least 630 hours in a school year at which point they will become eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, basic life insurance, and accidental death and dismemberment insurance.
  • Retirement Plans: This position is eligible for a 403(b) TSA Retirement Savings Plan.
  • Paid Holidays: This position is not eligible for paid holidays.
  • Paid Time Off: This position is not eligible for paid time off.

Snoqualmie Valley School District benefits are administered by the Washington State Healthcare Authority (HCA) under the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee who is scheduled to work 630 hours or more for SVSD in a school year, including substitute work, is eligible for benefits. Eligibility will be re-established at the start of each school year.
