Substitute Health Clerk

Basic principles and procedures of first aid and health care in accordance with State Laws and Red Cross practices; basic medical terminology; knowledge of required immunizations for school entrance; general office practices such as typing, filling, indexing, and alphabetizing; correct English usage, punctuation, grammar, and spelling.Analyze situations and initiate and effective course of action; recognize childhood diseases such as measles, mumps, chicken pox, pediculosis, ringworm, etc.; take temperatures, respirations and blood pressure; learn and apply laws, regulations and procedures prescribed by State Laws and District policies; use correct telephone and personal contact techniques; counsel with juveniles, relate to their problems and identify resources and support areas necessary to resolve them; understand and carry out oral and written instructions; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
