Category: Student Support Services/ Delegated Care Aide (Spring Season starting 04/05/23) Location: Deerfield Park High School Reports to: Special Education Department Chair Special Education Coordinator, and Athletic Director Schedules: After School (3:15 pm to 5:30 pm) daily for practice, matches, and matches on the weekends (times will vary) Starting pay: $23.00/Hour SUMMARY: Deerfield High School is currently seeking an individual who enjoys working with individual students who has sensory and processing needs. The primary role of the Delegated Care Aide is to support the student with maintaining safety in the community. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervises individual student and provides support. Essential Job Functions: Provide 1:1 supervision while the student is running in the community (either on foot or bike) Attend and supervise athletic practices and home and away matches. QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma State Paraprofessional Approval (sixty (60) or more college hours or pass Paraprofessional Test) Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs Willingness to attend mandatory training for this position Able to work with students with medical needs Able to swim CPR trained or willing to be trained. The employee is frequently required to interact with the other staff. The employee is directly responsible for the safety and well-being of students.
