ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The essential job functions and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Increasing enrollment at the College by serving as a consistent contact for new applicants; Actively managing a caseload of new applicants to IRSC, assigned by meta major, and working with those students to complete all requirements for admission; Providing students with career guidance to select a meta major and program of study; Helping students overcome any barriers to the completion of all admissions and onboarding requirements; Assisting with recruitment initiatives to help drive students to apply to IRSC; Learning all details and intricacies of programs of study within an assigned academic department; Working closely with the assigned academic department on application, course, and program requirements; Serving as a liaison between the assigned academic department and the division of student success; Registering students for their first term of enrollment; Accurately responding to all inquiries in a timely manner; Tracking students in the assigned caseload from the point of application to registration for their first term; Assisting with college initiatives in the recruitment, retention, and success of students. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The primary duty of the Student Success Coach is to increase enrollment of new students to the College by guiding students from the point of application to the start of their first term at IRSC. The specific duties and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to: Identifying applicants to IRSC and following up with each assigned applicant to assist them in completing all admissions requirements; Assisting applicants with career planning and program selection to ensure that they begin the program most suited to their interests and skillsets; Helping students through all admissions and onboarding steps, including transcript submission, residency declaration, and new student orientation; Guiding students through unique program admissions requirements for limited access programs; Identifying a system of outreach and follow up to guide students at all phases of the admissions process; Analyzing current data and tracking this data to ensure accountability for positive student enrollment outcomes; Assisting with recruitment activities to meet enrollment goals; Responding to emails, texts, and calls in a timely manner; Maintaining a continuously high level of knowledge of IRSC instructional programs, services, and information important to student success; Working a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the students and the College, including at least one evening per week and extended hours and weekends during peak enrollment periods; Completing other duties and responsibilities as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS: The qualifications and skill requirements for this position include: Bachelor's degree required; Minimum of two (2) years proven work experience with student recruitment, enrollment, and/or retention initiatives in a post-secondary, educational setting; Proven knowledge and skill in higher education student services, including admissions and registration procedures; Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students and provide accurate and sound academic and career advice; Demonstrated understanding of a broad range of educational opportunities; Ability to function effectively with multiple priorities; Ability to be well organized and demonstrate effective time management; Strong initiative to promote student success; Flexibility and creativity in problem solving; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, be self-motivated, and work effectively on a team; Ability to work across multiple departments to ensure consistent and continuous services for students; Effective written, verbal and presentation skills; Proficient use of technology applications and student information systems; Effective people skills to work with students from diverse backgrounds; Sound judgment and discretion in working with confidential information and student records. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as, copier, fax, calculator, telephone, and other equipment as necessary. IRSC expects its employees to follow proper safety standards while employed by the College.
