Waldorf University is seeking interested and qualified candidates for the position of a Student Success Coach. The Student Success Coach (SSC) identifies, engages, tracks and supports the student retention efforts. The SSC position is part of a team that will facilitate the comprehensive retention program that incorporates strategies progressing from the transition to college life to successful graduation from Waldorf University. This position will facilitate strategic efforts to increase student retention and graduation rates by following an intrusive outreach model of student success. The SSC will be assigned a case load of students that they will be responsible for, assisting with student retention and success. This position will follow an intrusive success coach model to engage and provide appropriate assistance to promote academic success. This person would teach several sections of FY Seminar and have all their students assigned as advisee's in their class for additional contact hours, engagement and case management. This position is expected to be fulltime during academic year starting August 1st through mid/end of May annually and as needed between end of school year and beginning of August in order to respond to student inquiries on a rotational basis that take place outside of the normal academic schedule. Student Success Coaches are provided with 5 personal days during the academic year in addition to academic year based holidays including extra time off at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Scheduled office hours are between 7:30am - 4:30pm, however position requires some flexibility and may include evening or weekends on occasion. Qualifications / Education / Experience Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred, equivalent experience considered Experience teaching, coaching or in human services Demonstrated service and passion for student's success Skills required High level of emotional intelligence, ability to understand and relate to others, build relationships and rapport with students Effective communications (verbal, written and non-verbal) skills both in one on one situations and with presentations/instruction, including the ability to provide constructive feedback Ability to interpret the needs of students and effectively listen Critical thinking skills Strong Organizational and time-management skills Proficiency in technology and not afraid to learn Ability to work independently, but within the parameters of the program goals Proven experience in working independently and as a team member. Demonstrated ability to communicate and perform duties in a professional manner.
