ABOUT THE ROLE: Performs diagnostic x-ray procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician. Uses x-ray technology and techniques to assist in the diagnosis of patient medical problems for patients throughout the age continuum. YOUR ROLE WOULD ENCOMPASS: Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. Performs all types of diagnostic x-ray procedures to include radiography of chest, extremities, skull and sinus, spine, ankle and foot, and abdomen. Practices radiation safety for patients, staff, and self. Uses sterile technique as required. Optimally demonstrates patient anatomy through proper positioning and selection of technical factors. Competently operates all diagnostic x-ray equipment and support systems to include, EMR, PACS and teleradiology. Utilizes department computer systems, files, EMR and PACS to review patient history and provide accurate documentation of studies. Properly cares for and images patients of all ages and maintains patient confidentiality. Coordinates exams within the department and with other departments to provide expedient and complete care; communicates with medical staff, coworkers, patients, families, and other hospital staff to assure quality patient care. Handles telephone calls for scheduling, coordination, or questions with courtesy and accuracy. Participates in the department quality improvement plan as assigned. Cleans, disinfects and maintains equipment as necessary; notifies supervisor of equipment problems. Keeps work area properly supplied. Accesses and administers drugs and biologicals that are pertinent to essential job functions in accordance with Medical Center procedures. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned. YOUR EXPERIENCE INCLUDES (PROVEN PERFORMANCE IN): Currently enrolled in an accredited Radiologic Technology program required Valid Temporary State Medical Radiographer license required Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) required ABOUT THE ROLE: Performs diagnostic x-ray procedures under the supervision of a qualified physician.
