Student Lab Assistant

Summary:

A large, established employer in Athens, OH, is hiring for a student assistant. This is a great chance for someone with a background in biological sciences to gain valuable experience with one of the best employers in the area.

Will be:

Preparing material required for the production and testing of the proteins.

Assisting with operation and maintenance of moderately complex laboratory equipment (such as FPLC, spectrophotometer, and lyophilizers).

Operating and maintaining wet laboratory equipment (such as pH meter, conductivity meter, osmometer, and scales).

Working in the Protein Biochemistry group assisting with routine tasks in and around the lab.

Providing support regarding the documentation process.

Helping with raw material quality assurance.

Managing lab inventory and supply ordering.

Performing other duties as assigned.

This is a temporary part-time position lasting through October 2024 with a possible extension. The schedule is flexible, working around 10-20 hours a week. The available work hours are within the Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. range. Pay is $15/hour.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in life sciences or a degree in progress preferred.

Must be able to work under moderate to minimal supervision.
