STUDENT CULTURE COORDINATOR

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Genesee Community Charter School at the RMSC is seeking a full-time Student Culture Coordinator. The Student
Culture Coordinator is responsible to support the overall culture and discipline of the school.

Entering Salary Range (based on certifications and experience): $55,000 - $75,000

STUDENT CULTURE COORDINATOR (SCC) QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree required, Masters degree preferred in a human services related field
Experience in elementary education setting
New York State Instructional Certificate (ex. K-6 Elementary Education, Teaching Assistant, etc.)
Is committed to a restorative practice model centering student empowerment
Possess a growth mindset and be highly adaptable to the needs of the school community

STUDENT CULTURE COORDINATOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Report to School Director
DASA Coordinator
Manage proactive and reactive approaches to the Code of Conduct
Consults with directors and staff concerning behavioral expectations and needs of students
First responder to evaluate a situation where a child breaks a Caring Community Commitment
Collaborates with the School Director in disciplinary action decision-making, disciplinary
documentation and reporting, and communication with families
Provide restorative support for staff, students, and families proactive culture, discipline issues, and
communication
Support the planning and implementation of Primary Project as Child Advocate, Crew, affinity groups, and
Social Emotional Learning Curriculums
Coach teachers in the structures of a Responsive Classroom approach to classroom management
Participates in formal and informal classroom visitations and observations; provides recommendations and
suggestions for improvement as appropriate
Identify resources to support the growth of a healthy, positive school culture
Work with the School Director to implement policies that support the vision of the GCCS school culture
Participate in student support and classroom team meetings to discuss management concerns
Implement behavior and attendance intervention at tier 2 and tier 3 to support students
Develop behavior support plans in collaboration with the Special Education Coordinator
Keep accurate student discipline records including the documentation of all parent/guardian conferences,
intervention strategies, suspensions and communication for behavior
Collect and analyze school-wide cultural data
Work with the School Director with helping the staff be accountable to school wide norms and commitment to
the Responsive Classroom approach to discipline
Facilitate staff professional development around school culture and discipline
Support the facilitation and participate on the Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI) Crew
Adhere to GCCS habits, programmatic practices, and philosophies
Commit to GCCS policies and procedures as outlined in the Staff Handbook, staff bulletins, and other
documents
