Strategic Supply Chain Mgr, Lawn & Garden

We are seeking an experienced, results-oriented Sr. Supply Chain Manager for the Lawn & Garden business who will thrive at solving complex supply chain and inventory management challenges for highly seasonal categories.

The Sr. Strategic Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for developing inventory sourcing strategies, improving cost to serve, and end-to-end business ownership of all supply chain processes from manufacturer to consumer. They will use data to influence others, invent, and build scalable systems & processes. They will play a critical role in delivering the optimal customer experience by ensuring we have the right product, in the right places, at the right time. Supply Chain Managers work to continuously optimize Amazon's supply chain by engaging with vendors to improve operational metrics and driving system and process automation with internal teams.

Successful candidates will have exceptional data extraction and analytical capabilities, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills. They will have strong business judgement, good instincts, and the ability to think forward. They are able to self-manage competing priorities, and drive both strategic and tactical activities in parallel. They will be able to lead and influence both internal and external teams in an ambiguous environment while maintaining a customer-centric philosophy.

Key job responsibilities
Managing inputs that impact the customer experience while reducing costs and removing waste in the supply chain
Engaging with vendors to focus on improving operational supply chain performance
Defining the operational strategy and contributing to the business growth and operations planning process
Identifying automation opportunities, improving non-automated processes, and building solutions to scale
Knowledge management and sharing, development of self and others, and supporting the recruiting process

We are open to hiring candidates to work out of one of the following locations:

Santa Monica, CA, USA

- 3+ years of with Excel experience
- 4+ years of supply chain, inventory management or project management experience
- Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years of professional or military experience

- Knowledge of the principles of statistical inventory control
- Experience with process improvement techniques such as Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $58,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $141,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
