State Income Tax Analyst Responsibilities:


  • State Tax Compliance: Prepare and file state income tax returns for the company and its subsidiaries in compliance with state regulations and deadlines.

  • Tax Planning: Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies to minimize the company's state income tax liabilities while maximizing tax efficiency.

  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research on state tax laws, regulations, and rulings to ensure accurate interpretation and application to the company's operations and transactions.

  • Audit Support: Assist in state income tax audits by gathering supporting documentation, responding to inquiries from tax authorities, and representing the company in discussions with auditors.

  • Internal Reporting: Prepare and analyze internal reports related to state income tax liabilities, provisions, and accruals for management review and decision-making.

State Income Tax Analyst Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • CPA Certified or Eligible
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in state income tax compliance and planning
  • Strong understanding of state tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in tax research tools and software, such as OneSource and Microsoft Excel.
