Position Title Staff Pharmacist Great Bend Hospital Position Summary / Career Interest: The pharmacist ensures the safe and effective use of medications by providing medication order verification while assessing for optimal drug product selection, dosage regimen design, effective administration, and drug therapy monitoring services. Monitors inpatient and outpatient drug therapies when appropriate, and works with relating medical staff to find alternatives when needed, to ensure the best care possible is being given. Responsibilities: Receives and interprets medication orders and transcribes to computerized patient medication profiles Compounds and dispenses pharmaceuticals, including sterile, chemotherapy, and parenteral nutrition products Issues controlled substances to patient care areas and maintains records Completes pharmacokinetics consults ordered during their shift determining medication dosing Provides information and education patient/family regarding medications Provides clinical consultation and clarification to practitioners; suggests appropriate, cost-effective therapeutic alternatives to medical staff.
