Nurses will be required to manage the message center and enter data into EHR, evaluates OARRS reports and calculate medication due dates based on this report in addition to information obtained from physician plan of care. Nurses will be required to propose prescriptions to providers based on this information. Nursing Staff in Pain Management will work in the Pain Management procedure area including, prep, recovery and the sterile surgical suite, managing individualized, goal directed nursing care through use of the nursing process and the principles of primary nursing in accordance with departmental and hospital policies and procedures. Essential Functions: Completes accurate documentation in patient records and charges. Demonstrates knowledge and correct use of all forms in regards to the day-to-day operation of the department. Assists physician with patient treatments. Offers support to patient and monitors patient throughout procedure and afterward. Completes dressing changes, suture and staple removal. Completes charge information accurately. Correctly identifies patient by name for any direct care procedures and/or treatment; checks identification of patient by use of their name band and registration sheet and assures that a patient is always banded with proper name. Always verifies with the patient the procedural laterality when appropriate. Other duties as assigned.
