We're looking for someone to join our team as a Staff Dentist who: The oral health program is responsible for the delivery of quality comprehensive dental services in the context of our integrated medical-dental ambulatory setting. The Staff Dentist works with the Dental Director to develop an effective patient and community education and dental disease prevention program in addition to needed routine clinical services. It is understood that the community's need for regular clinical services will require much professional time in the provision of chairside services; however, the goal of preventive service will always be kept in sight. Essential Functions: The Staff Dentist's primary work duty is patient care, which includes the following services: 1. Diagnostic. 2. Preventive. 3. Emergency. 4. Complete restorative. 5. Maintenance therapy. 6. Prosthetic therapy. 7. Oral Surgery In addition to the direct delivery of patient care, the Staff Dentist also assists with the following: 1. Assisting in establishing standards of oral health service and developing an organizational plan to carry our activities. 2. Supervision of dental staff. 3. Representing the clinic in meetings of professional groups. 4. May perform other work-related duties. You will be successful with the following qualifications: 1. Graduation from an accredited dental school. Must have (or immediately obtain) license to practice in California. 2. Three years previous dental experience desired. 3. Authoritative knowledge in the prevention aspects of oral health and its related techniques and procedures. Experience and understanding of oral health education methods. Basic understanding of nutrition. Working knowledge of regulations, policies and standards related to dental services. 4. Experience in working or desire to work in rural community setting with many ethnic groups. Ability to converse with Spanish-speaking patients desirable. 5.
