The Role

Are you skilled at implementing cutting-edge AI algorithms for production environments? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you.

Element Energy's AI team is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff for their AI group. The person will be responsible for prototyping and production deployment of advanced AI algorithms for battery management products.

The successful candidates' role will include working with large-scale data processing and implementing algorithms for supervised and unsupervised problems. The production software will run on computing infrastructure on managed cloud services such as AWS (Amazon Web Services) and miniaturized to run on embedded edge HW.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage and analyze large-scale time series battery data.
  • Design and implement AI models using Python, Pandas, Numpy, Sklearn, Tensorflow/PyTorch.
  • Deploy AI models on managed cloud services like AWS and GCP.
  • Develop high-quality code with unit tests and regression tests.
  • Collaborate closely with battery scientists and cross-functional teams.
  • Troubleshoot and debug software and system-related issues.
  • Document engineering requirements and design specifications.

The Person


  • Hand-on expertise in implementing and deploying AI algorithms for production.
  • MS/PhD in CS/EE/Physics/Chemical or related engineering degrees with >3 years of industry experience.
  • Excellent programming skills in Python, Pandas, Numpy, Sklearn, Tensorflow/PyTorch.
  • Excellent understanding of ML/DL algorithms such as GPR, SVM, RF, XGBoost, CNN, RNN, LSTM etc.
  • Extensive experience with scalable/distributed training on exceptionally large datasets using Tensorflow/PyTorch.
  • Extensive experience with time-series modeling using LSTM, Transformers.
  • Extensive experience with Linux-based dev environment.
  • Extensive experience with Git and agile software development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and Team player.
