Staff Accountant Responsibilities:


  • Maintain Investment Database:
    • Manage the investment database on an external service provider system.
    • Ensure accuracy and completeness of investment data.
  • Reconciliation:
    • Reconcile information from the WSO (external service provider) to general ledger activity.
    • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Correspondence:
    • Communicate with the WSO regarding activity and balance discrepancies.
    • Maintain regular correspondence with external loan administrators.
  • Cash Management:
    • Record daily cash activity in the general ledger to maintain accurate cash balances.
  • Bank Reconciliations:
    • Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
  • Interest Schedule Updates:
    • Update interest schedules for monthly ACH payments to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly forecasts for Flash reporting.
    • Support in the preparation of the Schedule of Investments (SOI) and Non-Qualified Assets listing.

Staff Accountant Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in the financial services industry preferred but not required.
