Staff Accountant

Rogers Group, headquartered in Nashville, TN is a 115-year-old privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction services company with quarry and asphalt construction operations in ten states with over 3,000 employees. Schedule: Full-Time Day Shift

Pay Rate: $25hr

Responsibilities as a Staff Accountant:

Assist in carrying out month end accounting procedures.
Assist local operations team by pulling and interpreting pre-built financial reports.
Assist in analysis of planned vs actual financial results.
Maintain adequate documentation and support for financial records.
Handle special projects and other ad hoc tasks as needed.
Cross train to serve as a backup and escalation point for other administrative roles.
This position will require some day travel to sites around Amarillo and Lubbock as well as occasional (less than once a month) overnight travel to other areas in Texas.

Qualifications:

Degree in accounting or related field
2 years relevant work experience or relevant internship experience.
Effective organizational skills to manage a variable workload around monthly close.
Experience working with Excel.
Highly detail oriented.
Ability to research issues, make recommendations, and pick up quickly on new systems and processes.
Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
