Responsibilities We are hiring a Systems Administrator at Hulburt Field in Florida. The person that we hire will supports the design and development of an interactive virtual training tool for system and network administrators to accomplish Mission Qualification Training. Responsibilities include building, configuring and resolving issues with the Air Operations Center (AOC) software infrastructure (servers, network, security, etc.) and the ACTT development infrastructure. In addition, the Systems Administrator will participate in the design and development of training scenarios and content for AOC systems and network administrators. What you'll do: Systems Administration: Perform advanced troubleshooting, configuration, and administration of server systems, storage devices, virtualization platforms, and network infrastructure.
Incident Resolution: Investigate and resolve complex technical issues reported from the field, utilizing your in-depth knowledge of systems and networks.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, network diagrams, standard operating procedures, and incident reports.
Collaborative Support: Collaborate with other IT and development teams to provide support and share expertise for cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Security Enhancement: Assist in maintaining, sustaining, and updating the current on-premise application with the DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF) process.
Training Development: Design and develop training content for AOC system and network administrators.Qualifications 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA; 0 years with PhD. In lieu of degree, 9 years of applicable experience will be acceptable. What you'll need: Strong Work Ethic: Self-motivated, proactive, and dedicated to delivering high-quality results while meeting deadlines.
Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Must have an ability to obtain an IAT-II certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M
Hold an active DOD Secret security clearance and a USAF CAC.
Travel: Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS as required, 10-15% of the calendar year.Required technical competencies: Proficiency in administering and troubleshooting Windows/Linux server operating systems
In-depth understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and other core infrastructure services
Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (ESXi, vSphere)
Knowledge of security principles and experience implementing security controls
Experience with networking concepts, protocols, and equipment (routers, switches, firewalls)Preferred technical competencies: Ability to automate with scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python and Bash
Familiarity with version control and change management tools
Familiarity with CI/CD operations
Familiarity with containerization
Familiarity with automation orchestration
Experience working in an Agile/DevOps environment
Hands-on experience with technologies and systems relevant to the AOC baseline is highly desired
Ability to prioritize and multitask
Target Salary Range $86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
