About this Position:

The Project Leader will engage with the EPL and Zone PL's from other Business Units to develop and execute New Model Project Plans that achieve the A00 Targets for New Model Projects. Lead and manage the NM Purchasing team in all aspects of a New Model project from start to finish. Design, identify, communicate, and implement a delivery plan for completing the NM project on time and within budget. Monitor progress and performance against the project plan versus actual. Prepare and present project reports to both internal and external Management members to show project status vs targets. Lead the development and execution of countermeasures for any items that do not meet NM project targets. Coach, mentor and develop department project PL's and assist and guide them to solve problems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Report the overall B-Zone project status to the Project E-PL, Dept & Div Managers and HDMA Executives according to the NA standard Evaluation process
  • Represent and bring Purchasing perspective in Project Zone Leader meetings and related negotiations with outside Business Unit department managers.
  • Create and Maintain NM Dept project budgets for B-Zone including SCM and NMD and present budget documents through the Evaluation process to Dept., Div. & HMDA Mgmt
  • Create, maintain, and manage project schedule (SAP) to meet overall schedule milestones and ensure project timing will meet production launch.
  • Develop and represent New Model Purchasing in research & development negotiations related to drawing release timing, tool lead timing, CRF (countermeasure request form) and cost.
  • Communicate across DEB areas of the business to share ideas and reach consensus. Share project requirements to Department team and suppliers
  • Mentor S-PL's and associates within group on problem solving, procedures, and fostering development

Who we are seeking:

Minimum Educational Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Business or Engineering with relevant experience

Minimum Experience:

12+ Years experience depending upon on education/degree

Other Job-Specific Skills:

  • Strong understanding of Honda SED flow,
  • Strong project management experience
  • Technical analysis/strength in problem solving
  • Proficient in Microsoft
  • Good organization skills
  • Leadership experience
  • Strong presentation skills

Additional Position Factors:

  • Office base + remote work with travel required.
  • Travel: Domestic - day trips 2x/mo. 1 - 2 days each; International - 2 week trip 1-2x/year
  • Potential request for crisis recovery support.
  • Overtime: 10 - 15 hrs./wk. during peak activity, possible shift time adjustment to support needed activity
