Direct Hire - Full Time position in Culpepper, VA Position ID: 2566 An excellent position with a large defense technology company delivering innovative mission solutions Senior Scientist - Material Process Engineering Please apply ONLY if you have a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Chemistry, Material Science, or similar Visa sponsorship is not available for this position We can ONLY consider your application if you have: 1: Bachelor's degree (master's or PhD preferred) in Chemistry, Material Science or related science 2: 15+ years of related technical experience in the chemistry environment (or an equivalent combination of education and experience). 3: Knowledge of chemical principles, thermodynamics, polymer chemistry, structure/property relationships, kinetics, and data analysis We are looking for a Senior Scientist Materials Process Engineer to support Energetics and Propellant Development. - Under minimal direction, the Energetics and Propellant Development Engineer performs assignments requiring a wide application of advanced principles, theories and concepts in the propulsion field with a working knowledge of other related disciplines, such as thermal, structural, and ballistics analysis. DESIRED (not required) SKILLS: Experience with energetic materials, statistical analysis, programming, and experimental set-up and data acquisition. Explosives theory, compositions, and modeling Duties and Responsibilities Develops solutions to unique or controversial problems which have an important effect on major company programs. 30% - Evaluate and implement tractable solutions to technical problems involving the utilization of chemistry and chemical analysis techniques. 30% - Responsible for specifying chemical testing and evaluating data, providing chemical guidance and planning (technical), organizing (cost and schedule), and conducting technical projects covering a broad range of technical topics under the guidance of a Technical Project Lead (Technical Fellow or equivalent). 25% - Develop, plan, and promote projects independently for the implementation of novel technical approaches and cutting-edge technologies. 15% - Consolidate results, prepare findings for reports Please send resume to Amarx Search, Inc. amarx
