Kyverna is recruiting a highly motivated Cell Based Assay Senior Research Associate of Analytical Development in its Technical Development organization to help advance its mission to free patients from the siege of autoimmune disease. The candidate will be responsible for performing laboratory-based studies and providing technical expertise to design, develop, optimize, validate, qualify and tech transfer methods across technologies including cell-based assays (T cell culture, potency assay, proliferation, etc.),immunoassays (multiplex immunoassays, single cell based proteomics), and multi-color flow cytometry. The ideal candidate will develop methods to characterize, monitor, and understand the attributes of engineered cells that are part of the Kyverna pipeline using advanced technologies and lead assay qualification/validation to support pipeline programs. Responsibilities Design and execute experiments to support development of robust cell-based assays to characterize starting material, in-process and engineered cellular and lenti-viral vector (LVV) products. Assist with cell based and immunoassay methods qualification and validation in support of regulatory filing. Support in-house Process Development by providing analytical testing, data analysis, and data reporting. Support method tech transfer activities by acting as subject matter expert, performing training, and troubleshooting. Organize, analyze and summarize data to support the drafting of test procedures, development reports, and regulatory filings Present data and findings regularly at team meetings and occasionally at broader Technical Development or TechOps forums. Support operations and management of Technical Development workflow Work with typical biological software such as Benchling, FlowJo, Prism. Expertise with Benchling applications is preferred. Draft test procedures, SOPs, and protocols. Support the drafting of development and method validation/qualification reports as needed. Maintain good electronic notebook record of performed studies. Collaborate with research and other teams in technical development to support and drive goals with R&D support the business. Other duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelors with 5+ or Master's degree with 3+ years of experience in biological sciences such as biochemistry, molecular and cell biology, or a related discipline. Subject matter expertise in one or more of the following: immunoassays such as ELISA, Ella, Isoplex, MSD, Western blot analysis; mammalian tissue culture including both adherent and suspension cells, and Flow Cytometry is a plus; lentivirus production and virus titer characterization; CAR-T production and characterization using flow cytometry and cell-based assays. Ability to design and execute experiments with minimal technical supervision. Ability to multitask, work effectively as part of a team and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Ability to think critically and demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Expertise with Benchling implementation, understanding of entry relationships, and results reporting and tracking is highly desired. $95,000 - $140,000 a year The salary range for this position is from $95,000 - $140,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay for this posted position, and the actual salary may vary based on various factors, including without limitation individual education, experience, tenure, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
