POSITION SUMMARY:

The Product Manager of HCM Solutions will have the opportunity to define and lead the implementation of next generation capabilities that transform the way that our crew (employee s in stores, ship centers and headquarters) inte r act with Five Below as it grows from $3B to $6B in annual revenue. This role will partner with stakeholders from Human Resources, Store Operations and Supply Chain areas to develop a roadmap for the systems that support the employee experience . They will guide a scrum team in delivering business value frequently through an established agile development process. Product managers are accountable for real-time engagement with senior business leaders for both strategic and tactical initiatives while ensuring our applications uptime and performance meets the operating need.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates and documents a vision for multiple products in a prioritized long-term roadmap based on a deep understanding of business needs and market trends.

  • Document business requirements in the form of Agile stories; groom and prioritize stories in the backlog to ensure that engineers on the scrum team understands the acceptance criteria for the stories.

  • Responsible for defining Epics, stories and prioritizing the Team Backlog.

  • Build relationships with key business partners and other stakeholders to ensure an understanding of their business processes/needs and integrate those into the backlog, liaising between those stakeholders and the technical teams.

  • Understand and m anage the product economics including product budget and resource allocation, ensuring that resourc e s and budget are directed towards delivering the highest value.

  • Describe proposed scope changes to engineers and negotiate tradeoffs between scope, schedule and quality on behalf of stakeholders.

  • Lead team demonstrations of software product and provide context to explain how the software product applies to business processes

  • Sets and communicates iteration goals and iteration content via prioritized stories

  • Develops a strong understanding of the business operations in a domain

  • Partners with the stakeholders to help drive user adoption of new capabilities , including development of change management plans, communication plans, training, and user adoption surveys.

  • Continuously monitor product performance , making adjustments and communicate status and changes to stakeholders.

  • Engage with the software vendors and understand the new application functionality that's being evaluated for implementation.

  • Provide training to IT operations resources; act as escalation and communication point for business-impacting incidents , ensuring outages are communicated to leaders in a timely manner and in business language .

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8 + years IT experience

  • 5 + years' experience in product management or product ownership on an Agile team, preferably for a large retail company.

  • Experience using roadmap and agile project management tools (Jira, Aha, Rally, etc ) preferred

  • Strong understanding of

  • Human resources or human capital management systems, preferably for a national organization with a balanced mix of exempt and non-exempt employees

  • E mployee lifecycle business proceses including recruiting, onboarding, performance management, timekeeping, total rewards , separation and compl iance

  • Experience with

  • Enterprise Human Capital Management (Workday)

  • Timekeeping and Scheduling Technologies (Kronos, Legion)

  • Payroll Software As a Service (ADP, Ceridian, etc.)

  • Learn i ng Management Systems ( Cornerstone , BizLibrary )

  • Strong experience defining product requirements including functional requirements and supporting non-functional requirements

  • Background in product roadmap management, both development and execution of a long-term vision

  • Ability to develop a clear, complete understanding of customer needs and problems through careful listening, probing, encouraging or summarizing and document them using natural language

  • develop and deliver communications (both oral and written) that have clarity and impact

  • establish and maintain effective relationships with customers

  • Dedication to exceeding customer expectations and requirements

  • Effective time management and organizational skills with the ability to operate in a fluid, fast paced environment

  • BA or BS degree in MIS, Computer Science, or related area preferred
