Description Sr. Process Improvement Expert Washington, DC Responsibilities: This position supports the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) Deputy Commander, Total Force/Corporate Operations (SEA 10). NAVSEA is the Department of Navy's (DON's) central activity for designing, engineering, integrating, building, and procuring U.S. Naval ships, shipboard weapons, and combat systems. NAVSEA's responsibilities also include the maintenance, repair, modernization, and conversion of in-service ships and their weapons and combat systems. The candidate will evaluate and provide performance optimization solutions for current HR and Business Operations programs within SEA 10. Support and lead process and performance improvement efforts in the areas of strategic planning, corporate operations, human resources, training, administration, and business process, to include baselining functional processes and re-engineering to incorporate/integrate existing enabling IT technology. Duties and responsibilities include: Lead the capture, documentation, redesign, and solutions implementation of corporate operations processes, including continuous process implement of operations via operations research, process optimization, process improvement, Six Sigma, Lead (or Lean Six Sigma), Theory of Constraints or other types of technical efforts. Identify, define, and document business requirements (project initiation document, what the needed achievements will be, and the quality measures) and functional requirements (what the system process or product/service must do to fulfill the business requirements) in order to recommend solutions that enable SEA 10 to optimize operational efficiency and effectiveness. Identify, develop, monitor, and assess operation and performance measurements/metrics from initial baselining assessment through fully operational implementation of business process and IT improvements. Lead the identification and development of process automation solutions across multiple complex business processes, requiring design or integration of technical solutions that may cross multiple functions of business. Interact directly with high-level customers on a regular basis, and plan and facilitate meetings to achieve desired customer objectives. Provide group facilitation, interviewing, training, communications, and additional forms of knowledge transfer. Provide strategic advice, technical guidance and training to customers and less experienced project staff. Requirements: Must be a US Citizen with a Secret Security Clearance Minimum of bachelor's degree in a relevant professional major Master's Degree preferred. A minimum of 10 years of experience initiating, leading, and executing process improvement efforts for a large federal or corporate organization preferred. Experience must include designing, coordinating/facilitating, and collaborating efforts with multiple stakeholders within corporate organizations preferred.
