Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Sr Principal Systems Engineer (Lead Integrator) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Systems Engineering organization. This position is located in San Diego, CA.

In this role you will be responsible for leading a team of integrators in the lab and providing direct support for fielded operations. The Lead Integrator drives capability readiness assessments, interface definition, troubleshooting, and system characterization evaluations.

Essential Functions:

  • Support defect analysis and testing
  • Support formal requirement verification and validation
  • Perform and support software installation/Integration efforts
  • Perform regression testing and post patch testing
  • Analyze system capabilities to identify and write software bugs using JIRA
  • Identify and update system interface impacts and updating of documentation
  • Coordinate with other IPTs and suppliers

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years engineering experience; MS degree in STEM discipline with 7 years engineering experience; PhD degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of engineering experience
  • An active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain Program Access (PAR) within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs
  • Experience supporting Fielded Aircraft Systems
  • Experience in full lifecycle of Systems Engineering, including requirements decomposition, test planning, and requirements verification
  • Experience with formal requirement verification and decomposition
  • Experience with test procedure development for verification of requirements
  • Experience in ICD development and integration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with USAF customers
  • Experience with UAV systems
  • Experience with root cause investigations, fielded issue investigation, and operational missions.
  • Working knowledge of DOORS, CAMEO, Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
  • Experience creating test plans and procedures
Salary Range: $133,000 - $199,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
