Position Overview:
Industrial Engineers apply advanced problem-solving techniques and Lean Manufacturing principles to design, develop, and optimize production processes to maximize throughput, efficiency, and value. Industrial Engineers are involved in Process Mapping, Capacity Planning, Manpower Planning, Factory Layout, Line Balancing, Simulation and Process Modeling, Labor Performance Analysis, and Project Management.
Responsibilities will focus primarily on discrete tasks supporting critical projects having a significant impact on the business, helping with initiatives to advance the industrial engineering organization, and coaching/mentoring industrial engineers to grow key competencies by performing the following:
- Analyze key manufacturing performance indicators to identify undesirable effects and opportunities for improvement.
- Calculate resource utilization and identify throughput constraints.
- Apply Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate constraints, improve efficiency, and meet or exceed cost, quality, and on-time delivery goals.
- Create process flows, value stream maps, pareto charts, spaghetti diagrams, and CAD drawings to graphically show manufacturing processes, the movement of material, the exchange of information, and key metrics.
- Contribute to strategic roadmaps focused on factory capacity, Manufacturing Technology insertion, infrastructure improvements, obsolescence mitigation, and the integration of new capabilities.
- Partner with project managers and factory support functions to improve modify the factory footprint and layout of factory equipment as needed.
- Support program contract proposals, business case development for future investments, and Make/Buy/Where analyses.
- Support planning and prioritization of strategic investments coordinated by the industrial engineering organization
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and/or Systems Engineering.
- 10 years of applicable experience.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) clearance.
Qualifications We Value:

Working Environments:
This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending significant amounts of time in and around factory areas. This position may require infrequent travel not expected to exceed more than a few weeks per year.
This position requires the eligibility to obtain a security clearance. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. The salary range for this role is 118,000 USD - 246,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
