Senior Media Systems Engineer

18 month+ Contract

• Investigate, analyze, resolve and document hardware and software problems on a wide range of systems on-site and in public cloud for multiple production and post production environments


• Design and deploy systems in production timelines with high availability, and clear observability


• Author tools, and leverage open source, to automate tasks with an emphasis on reliability and repeatability


• Serve as an escalation point to troubleshoot and resolve performance and reliability issues in production environments


• Lead and collaborate with engineers to ensure systems are designed to be scalable, and easily operated


• Effective at dealing with change: Able to transition in role or handle a significant modification or technology with minimal ramp-up time and with very little guidance

Basic Qualifications

Expertise in Linux, MacOS and Windows systems administration in a professional environment

• High performance storage solutions used in production (Quantum, Avid, Isilon)


• Media File Transport Solutions (e.g. Signiant, Aspera)


• Hands-On understanding of virtualization and VMware vSphere.


• Experience with Scripting and Automation (BASH, Python, etc.)


• IP networking including performance-based troubleshooting


• Data Center Operations, Power Management, Elevations

Preferred

Configuration management solutions and experience managing infrastructure as code. (ex: bash, ansible, terraform)

• Strong project management and resource planning experience


• Familiar with onsite and public cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google)


• Data center, network, and application architectures


• Knowledge in Container Platforms (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes, Openshift)


• Experience with Post Production Software and Tools (e.g. Resolve, Baselight, Avid, Colorfront, etc.)
