We are looking for a Senior Manager of Patternmaking for a leading intimate apparel company in New York, NY. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the execution of patterns for a comprehensive size range and accurate completion of production packages for a smooth handoff to manufacturing. This is a temp to perm position and operates onsite 5 days in NYC.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the pattern grading process, managing a team of pattern graders who execute grade to patterns, pads and wires for the entire size range for the product lines.
• Responsible for setting grading standards, staying on top of consumer fit preferences, and partnering with the Design Director to evolve the fit philosophy.
• Ensure the accuracy of work within the pattern grading team to be in compliance with company standards.
• Align with the Design Director on new pad and wire development and ensure grading department executes logical grade based on design direction and grading standards.
• Review base size design packages before handing off to pattern graders providing guidance for successful pattern grading execution.
• Supervise Pattern Check garment fittings.
• Review the measurements and tolerances provided by the pattern graders for contractor package style tech packs
• Superior knowledge of bra design and manufacturing so that you can provide expert guidance and troubleshoot when challenges arise.
• Partner with Technical Engineering to ensure a smooth hand-off to manufacturing.
• Partner with Design Director to ensure fit integrity is maintained for the entire size range.
• Review new style FOP garments with Design Director and Technical Engineer safeguarding Wacoal fit, quality and aesthetic standards are upheld.
• Proactively identify opportunities for greater efficiency and better delivery for business growth. Required Qualifications:
• 10 years minimum experience required, combination of intimate apparel industry experience and people management
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Technical Design, Product Development and Patterning
• Ability to respond quickly and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, flexible and can manage change.
• Superior organizational skills, highly detail oriented and meticulous.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to mentor, lead and collaborate with cross functional teams to achieve goals.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Hands on pattern experience and knowledge of bra construction and technical fit including molded cup and pad development.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), Lectra or other pattern making program; Adobe Illustrator is a bonus.
