The HR Information System Senior Manager leads and maintains the firm s HR-related technology and HRIS applications (Workday). This includes, but is not limited to, the management of workforce data, workflows, business processes to maintain alignment with the organizations overall project timelines. This position also ensures data integrity, tests system changes, supports HRIS upgrades and analyzes data flows for process improvement opportunities. This position will be responsible for understanding the firms reporting and analytics needs to ensure that we are capturing and presenting meaningful information to the talent team, key stakeholders, and the firm. This position will be responsible to ensure that HR data is integrated into other firm products as needed, especially in finance and IT.

Essential Functions


  • Maintains optimal performance of firm s HR system (Workday), including system configuration, business process, integration, role security, testing, reporting and data analytics.
  • Develops a dashboard model for key talent metrics.
  • Provides technical support, troubleshooting, and guidance for HRIS users.
  • Collaborates with HR leadership, HR team and stakeholders across the firm to identify and implement system improvements and process efficiencies.
  • Translates business objectives and user needs into clear technical requirements.
  • Proactively mines system data, analyzes information and makes recommendations on process enhancements.
  • Executes process changes based on best practice.
  • Manages permissions, security access, personalization, and similar system operations and settings for all HRIS users.
  • Serves as a liaison between HR and the various Business Services departments such as IT and Finance regarding HRIS data, reporting and integrations.
  • Ensures compliance with data security and privacy requirements.
  • Provides production support, including researching and resolving HR system problems, unexpected results or business process issues and flaws; recommending and implementing solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements as necessary.
  • Generates reports, including writing, maintaining and supporting a variety of queries utilizing appropriate reporting tools and dashboards for key stakeholders in the firm. Develops automated and standardized reports to meet ongoing user needs.
  • Maintains data integrity in systems by running reports and analyzing data.
  • Performs system maintenance and audits, including review, testing and implementation of HRIS system upgrades.
  • Partners effectively with functional leads in gathering requirements to provide effective interfaces with third party vendors; troubleshoot and resolve any issues arising.
  • Conducts training for new system users including creating training materials and user guides that drive end-user adoption.
  • Develops user procedures, guidelines and documentation.
  • Creates and maintains procedure documentation for HR systems and updates change log.
  • Maintains awareness of current trends in HRMS with a focus on product and service development, delivery and support, and applying key technologies.

Qualifications/Skills Required


  • Excellent technical skills and the ability to translate user requirements
  • In-depth experience with Workday is required
  • Project management experience desired.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills required
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency with MS Excel tools, such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP functions, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, and manage multiple projects, from start to finish, with shifting priority levels.

Educational Requirements


  • Bachelor s degree in Information Technology, Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • 10 or more years of experience in an HRIS configuration, management, support, and maintenance or similar role.
  • In-depth experience with Workday is required
  • Implementation experience is a plus.
  • Law Firm experience is preferred, but not required

For Westchester County, the expected salary range for this position is between $160,000 - $190,000. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
